Batched cocktail recipes

For when hosting duty rolls around

Right, so you’ve landed the very important job of hosting the next get-together. You’ve got nearly 20 people coming over for a day of drinking and dining and you’ve barely got enough room in the fridge for another case of wine.

Our top tip? Opt for some batched cocktails instead.

We asked our Creative Director of Gin Drinks, James to share some of his top batched cocktail recipes, perfect for serving up over a long weekend (hint hint). Here’s what he’s come up with.

SANGRIENTA AFLOAT

The best of all worlds. Balance in flavour and combining two of our favourite gins. Kick back and enjoy like you’re on Playa d’en Bossa.

INGREDIENTS – SERVES FOUR
METHOD
  • Build in a carafe over ice
  • Layer with grapefruit + lemon wheels and garnish the carafe with mint
  • Serve up in a rocks glass with ice and a slice of ruby grapefruit

FRENCH 75 PUNCH

A punch fit for a celebration! One of our favourite cocktails made to share. Perfectly simple, elegant and delicious.

INGREDIENTS – SERVES 10
  • 300mL Rare Old Tom Gin
  • 300mL fresh lemon juice
  • 175mL simple syrup [1:1 caster sugar to water]
  • 1 bottle of champagne
METHOD
  • Combine all ingredients into a punch bowl or carafe over ice
  • Serve in a chilled glass over ice
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel and a dash of absinthe (if you’re feeling it!)

NEGRONI HOLIDAY

Kick back with our tropical take on the Count’s classic. Rounded with Rare Old Tom Gin and mucho tropicale pina action.

INGREDIENTS – SERVES 8
METHOD
  • Quickly shake pineapple juice without ice (this will aerate the liquid)
  • Build all ingredients into a punch bowl/carafe over ice
  • Serve up in some chilled rocks glasses
  • Garnish with a wedge of pineapple

GETTING IT DONE

Crowd-pleasing at it’s easiest. A combination of tart, aromatic, fresh and vibrancy. This spritz punch packs a big flavour that just gets it done. Ya know?

INGREDIENTS – SERVES 12
METHOD
  • Build all ingredients into a punch bowl/carafe over ice
  • Serve up in some glasses over ice
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel and sprig of basil

FREEZER DOOR

Preparation is key (and delicious). This freezer door style martini brings the best of both worlds of zingy and fresh with bold and aromatic. With the best part being, there’ll also be a freezing cold martini waiting for you at home.

INGREDIENTS – SERVES 10
METHOD
  • Combine all ingredients into a large container and stir together
  • Funnel back into an empty Four Pillars Gin bottle
  • Leave in the freezer door for two hours
  • To serve, pour 80mL into a frozen cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or an olive
