To make the gin, Cam flew to Longreach with a film crew from Qantas. It was roasting hot but really green after lots of rain the week before. He went out to Numulla to meet with local elder Suzanne Thompson on a property handed back to the indigenous community.
Cam describes it as a giant bush food supermarket; almost every grass, leaf, berry, or fruit has a use within the indigenous culture and has done for thousands of years. The native lemongrass gave the entire area an incredible aroma after the rains and worked with the vibrancy of the other botanicals.
