Cameron first met the Stranger & Sons team at Bar Convent Berlin in 2018 and was taken by their passion and expertise. He made a point of keeping track of their progress, and was thrilled when they became the very first Indian gin to take home a gold medal from the 2020 International Wine & Spirits Competition in London. A congratulatory email was sent and the conversation of a Distiller Series Gin was sparked.

By this point in time, we were well and truly locked down. So the usual Distiller Series overseas trip was off, and several Zoom calls, phone calls and even some old fashioned emails were on. We sent them some of our favourite Aussie botancials, they sent us some of their favourite Indian spices, and how they made it through customs we’re still not sure. Cam tinkered away in the distillery with these new, exotic botanicals and the result was Spice Trade Gin. A spice bazaar in a bottle that is loud, flavoursome and fresh.
Meanwhile over in Goa, Co-founder Sakshi and the team got to work with Australian botanicals like lemon myrtle and river mint, mixing them with native botanicals of their own like mangosteen, kokum and tamarind. The blend evolved into a coastal dry gin with a beautiful bouquet of citrus and a hint of spice, and the guys at Stranger & Sons officially crowned it Trading Tides Gin.
