Want to know more about the Bloody Midwinter Gin Fest? Let’s take it back to the start…

We first released Bloody Shiraz Gin back in 2016 when we were based out the back of a mate’s winery and Cam came across some unclaimed Shiraz. Cam decided to experiment and aren’t we glad he did! What was an annual vintage release every June has become a cult-favourite that (thankfully) is available year round, but regardless, we still view June as a time to thank the grape gods for another year of Bloody Shiraz Gin and for the first time, Bloody Pinot Noir Gin too!

So this year, to celebrate, we hosted our inaugural Bloody Midwinter Gin Fest. For two months, from June to July, we organised and hosted fifteen events across three states with one purpose in mind – enjoying a bloody great drink.

WORLD GIN DAY

It all started on World Gin Day which we turned into a World Gin Weekend at our homes in Healesville, our Distillery and Surry Hills in Sydney, our Laboratory. There were free tastings at the gin bench, DJ sets, special edition gin classes, epic new gin drinks and oh so much more.

GOLDEN CENTURY BBQ KITCHEN TAKEOVER

Sydney icons Golden Century BBQ took up residence in our Lab’s kitchen for one weekend only! Classic dishes like peking duck pancakes and BBQ pork buns were served up alongside Bloody Shiraz Gin cocktails and an exclusive tasting of Bloody Pinot Noir Gin on the rocks.

GIN FEASTS

We joined forces with North Bondi Fish in Sydney, Yakimono in Melbourne and Stratton in Brisbane to host three bloody feasts full of delicious dishes and cracking Bloody Shiraz Gin drinks.

GIN & FILM

The ultimate combo of cult films and bloody brilliant gin drinks were back for another season at Golden Age Cinema in Sydney and Thornbury Picture House.

BLOODY POP-UPS

We teamed up with some of Sydney, Brissy and Melbourne’s best hotspots to bring the bloody great drinks and bloody good times all winter long. In Melbourne, Goldilocks and Dessous got a purple makeover, in Sydney it was the Harbour View Hotel and RAFI, and in Brisbane, we overstayed our welcome at Stratton.
